Dig in to some fantasy noir. A mage was robbed of a magic gem... that he wasn't supposed to have in the first place. He can't go to the city wardens, but he heard you solve problems. You can probably get the stone back...but peeling back enough layers to find out what's really going on will be a bigger challenge.
